On 12 August 2020, to celebrate ASEAN Month and the 53rd Anniversary of the Founding of ASEAN, the Commission of Higher Education Regional Office 1 of the Philippines in partnership with the ASEAN University Network hosted a free webinar entitled “Cohesive and Responsive ASEAN 2020: Strengthening Education Collaboration among ASEAN Higher Education Institutions during the COVID-19 Pandemic”. University presidents, rectors, and vice chancellors shared their practices in sustaining the delivery of quality education in spite of the pandemic.

AUN-TEPL webinar series: What Does Interaction Contribute to the Online Learning Experience
On 6 August 2020, the Centre for Teaching Excellence (CTE) organised a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Webinar titled “What Does Interaction Contribute to the Online Learning Experience: Developing Community through Dialogue and Discussion”. During the webinar, which drew an attendance of close to 260 participants across 13 countries, Professor Brett reviewed some of the key understandings from decades of Learning Sciences research on learning and teaching in online settings to demonstrate how and why interaction in online courses can support deep learning.
