The International Summer School (ISS) program at the University of Seoul (UOS)
The International Summer School (ISS) program at the University of Seoul (UOS) was first established in 2000, and it has provided international students with a great opportunity to learn about Korean culture and tradition. Reorganized in 2005, the International Summer School (ISS) has been receiving an increased amount of funds from the Seoul Metropolitan Government and offers various incentives to the participants coming from not only the partner universities but also many prestigious universities over the world. From 2017 name of the program is changed to Seoul International Summer School (SISS) and expect the program to be the representative of International Summer School in Seoul.
About the Program
SISS Peer Advocate Program!
SISS offers a buddy program “Peer Advocate” for international students. Peer Advocates are UOS Korean students who help international students adjust to life in Korea. Peer Advocates live with international students in the dorm and participate in most of the programs offered by SISS with all of international students.
Mingling with Friends from All over the World!
You can build a global network by making many friends from Australia, Austria, Canada, Chile, China, Columbia, Finland, France, Germany, Indonesia, Hungary, Lithuania, Mexico, the Netherlands, Peru, Portugal, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UK, USA, and more.
Chance to Explore Jeju Island in Korea!
A 4-day field trip to Jeju Island in Korea, a volcanic island full of allure with breathtaking natural beauty as well as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO , will give you a better understanding about Korea.
Various Field Trips and Cultural Activities
To learn about Korea’s past, present and future, you can experience various kinds of activities while visiting meaningful spots in Korea such as Jeonju’s Hanok Village, Taekwondowon, DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) and Hwaseong Fortress (World Heritage Sites by UNESCO). Eligibility
Seoul International Summer School accepts both exchange students from partner universities and non-exchange students from all over the world.
Undergraduates or Postgraduates from UOS partner universities are eligible for the program.
Student must be nominated by the International Relations Office.

- TOEFL or IELTS, with minimum score of: TOEFL 550, IELTS 6,5, iBT 79
