Application procedure at Hochschule Ulm – Spring Semester 2017

- 3-Month-Programs during the spring semester
International Electrical Engineering Program and International Computer Engineering Program in English
During the summer semester we offer the Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering Programs (IEEP and ICEP). The lectures run from April till June. (The Mechanical Engineering Program (IMEP) is only offered from October till December).
- Semester Program
Ulm are offering several semester programs in different departments.
Please note: Semester Programs means that courses start at the beginning of March and end in the end of July. Mixing those courses with the ICEP / IEEP program will not be possible.

- Practical trainings / internships / final thesis
Students could also come to HS Ulm and do a practical semester/project work in one of Ulm laboratories. This can also be done in the framework of a Bachelor or Master thesis. In this case Ulm would need to get some information on the student’s interests and qualification. The students may have a look on the different institutes on Ulm web-page and let Ulm know in which research field they are interested in. Please send Ulm beforehand a scanned letter of motivation, a CV and a transcript of records so that Ulm can ask different professors in Ulm faculties to find a suitable tutor.

- German taught programs:
Students who speak German can study in any of Bachelor Programs. The module description of the German taught classes can be found here

Students should have at least a German level of B2.
- Master programs
Students with a Bachelor degree or an equivalent of minimum 210 ECTS are welcome to select courses form Ulm Master programs.

Nomination / Application:
Students should be nominated by their home universities first.
The requirements needed:
- Academic transcript
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- TOEFL score (550)
- motivation letter
Please send all the requirements above to the International Relation Office, Ganesha No. 17, Bandung, before 11 August 2017. We will then send you the link to the online application form which includes also the housing request form and the language competence form. Incoming students should be able to follow lectures in English or German (B2 level).
Deadlines:
The deadline for the next summer semester is November 1st.
Please note: the online application will be closed at November 1st, 12.00 p.m. It will not be possible to apply after this date.
Language course:
Ulm are offering a voluntary intensive language course during the first 2 weeks in March.
During the semester Ulm are offering German language courses in 4 different levels. The participation in the semester language courses is mandatory for all exchange students.
Housing:
Ulm will do their best to provide housing in one of Ulm student dormitories regarding the wishes, the students mark in the housing request form. However, the situation in Ulm has become very difficult and Ulm cannot guarantee that Ulm will find housing for all students. If students are able to find an accommodation by themselves they should let Ulm know as soon as possible.

After the students have been accepted by the corresponding department of Ulm university, you will receive a letter with general information, an admission letter and some important information concerning their arrival and their stay in Ulm. Please do remind that you should arrive on the given dates and be present at the registration days.
