USM Summer Programme – Tropical Data Science School

The School of Computer Science at Universiti Sains Malaysia cordially invites your students to our summer programme ‘Tropical Data Science School.’ This programme has been designed considering the pivotal role data plays in our life – telling stories, describing phenomena, and paving the way for innovation.

At the end of this one-week data intensive you will be able to:

• To comprehend data science workflow, the many roles within data science, and will be able to apply this knowledge to practical situations.
• Interpret and diagnose data including handling data issues.
• Tell stories using data.

In addition to this, you will be exposed to Malaysia’s diverse culture through the food, clothes, music and much more! You get to experience all of this while staying at Penang and enjoying multiple activities designed specifically for students like you by our USM Buddies – a group of our undergraduate students that awaits to host you here!

The programme fees of 670USD cover the academic classes, accommodation, airport transfer from the Penang International Airport, cultural activities and excursions throughout the programme. Whereas USM will be providing daily breakfast and lunches for participants from our partner universities for FREE.
