Tohoku University invites student of ITB to participate at the following student exchange programs:

1. Junior Year Program in English (JYPE)
The main purpose of this program is to offer an opportunity for overseas undergraduate students to take science, engineering, and agricultural course at Tohoku University, without having to attain the Japanese language proficiency that would be necessary to take the same course in Japanese. All lectures are given in English and course credits will be given by the standards of the equivalent courses offered in Japanese. 2. International Program in Liberal Arts (IPLA)
IPLA is an exchange program to provide an opportunity for overseas students to study a variety of Liberal Arts classes taught in English, including Economics, Management, Education and Literature at Tohoku University in Japan. For further information, please see http://www.insc.tohoku.ac.jp/

3. Cooperative Laboratory Study Program (COLABS)
The main purpose of this program is to offer an opportunity for overseas graduate students to take scientific research training in the assigned research laboratory. For further information please see http://www.insc.tohoku.ac.jp/

4. Direct Enrollment Education Programs (DEEP)
There are two categories in this program:
a. Special Auditing Student
Students can take regular courses where the lectures are mostly given in Japanese.
b. Special Research Student
Students can engaged in the research activities under the supervision of an academic advisor at Tohoku University.

4. TOEFL or IELTS, with minimum score of: TOEFL 550, IELTS 6,5, iBT 100
