USAID Enhancing Equality in Energy for Southeast Asia (E4SEA)
A growing body of evidence underscores the correlation between increased representation of women in corporate leadership roles and stronger business performance and outcomes.
USAID Enhancing Equality in Energy for Southeast Asia (E4SEA) partners with organizations in Southeast Asia that are leading Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) efforts. The Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), an intergovernmental organization of the eleven Southeast Asian countries, was formed on 30 November 1965 by the Kingdom of Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and the then Republic of Vietnam. One of SEAMEO’s centers working on STEM is SEAMEO Regional Centre for Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics Education based in Thailand (SEAMEO STEM-ED).
USAID E4SEA’s second Quarterly Meeting for the South-South Knowledge Exchange is a dialogue between USAID E4SEA and SEAMEO STEM-ED on the importance of promoting STEM among girls and young women for career prospects in the energy sector. It supports greater participation of women in one of SE Asia’s most important industry sectors.
