Stay Permit Extension

Your Study Permit (SP) and Stay Permit (ITAS) must be extended 2 months before the expired date of your Stay Permit. In order to process the extension of the Stay Permit, IRO ITB needs the letter of recommendation from the student’s Faculty/School, to be able to start processing the extension of the Study Permit. It is the student’s responsibility to process the extension of the Stay Permit.

These are the required documents to process the extension of the Study Permit and Stay Permit:

The following are the documents to be prepared by the student (to be submitted to IRO ITB):

  1. An Academic Report/Transcript (Example: transcript)
  2. A Curriculum Vitae/Resume (Form: CV)
  3. A letter of Declaration stating that you (Form: Declaration letter) a) will obey Indonesian rules and laws and b) will not involve in any work activities
  4. A letter of Sponsorship or of Financial guarantee (if you self support) (Example: Sponsor Letter Scholarship/Institution) (Example: Sponsor Letter Self funding)

    • If self-funded, please write the letter with your signature or your representative’s;
    • If sponsored by an institution, please present the letter or proof of funding;
    • For KNB students, the Bureau of Partnerships ITB has a copy of it;
  5. Health Declaration/Report, signed by a medical doctor within a maximum of 2 months before applying;(Health Certificate)
  6. A color scan of valid Passport: (Example: passport)
    •  18-month passport validity remaining to apply for a 6-month SP and KITAS (Limited Stay Permit Visa)
    • 24-month passport validity remaining to apply for a 12-month SP and KITAS
    • 36-month passport validity remaining to apply for a 24-month SP and KITAS
    • (So, if your passport nearing expiration, we recommend that you have it renew to the maximum time allowable before you begin applying procedures.)
  7. formal photos (no-tshirt) – red background (Example: Photo)
  8. Printed Copy of STM;
  9. Printed Copy of Valid ITAS.

Note: For KNB students, a separate set of procedures will be informed regarding the extension of your passport for the purpose of extending your SP and ITAS (it generally requires up to 3 months to process the extension of your passport for the purpose of extending your SP and ITAS).

Once all are set, the student will submit these documents to the Immigration Office:

  1. Letter of Recommendation*;
  2. Letter of Sponsorship*;
  3. Printed Copy of Indonesian ID Card and Family Card of Sponsor*;
  4. Study Permit*;
  5. Application Form No. 24 (provided by Immigration Office);
  6. Printed Copy of Valid SKTT;
  7. Printed Copy of Valid Passport (Pages of ID, Arrival Stamp, Stay Permit Stamp);
  8. Original Passport.
