OGGs-PARE Summer Course AY2025, Hokkaido University

We are happy to announce that we call for participants who are doing their graduate studies for OGGs Basic program in July-August 2025, and for long term study opportunity(3months or longer_OGGs Advanced program) at Hokkaido University.

OGGs students will learn about the SDGs, the common theme of the OGGs, as a basic subject, and then deepen their study of the issues specified for each course. (ITB Students are invited to participate in PARE or NJE3 only)

・PARE: This course conducts lectures and field studies related to “populations”, “activities”, “resources”, and
“environments” and aims to develop frontier human resources who can play leading roles in the development of Asia.
・NJE3: This course aims to develop northern region specialists with a multidisciplinary and comprehensive
perspective that can be obtained by connecting the various research fields.
・STSI: This course jointly implements by Hokkaido University and three of India’s top universities to foster
professionals with the ability to maximize results in endeavors that address various issues related to transportation
system and infrastructure development in India.

Eligibility
Students who fulfill all the conditions of 1-2 below.
1. Students who are equivalent to either condition of (1)-(3) as of June 2025.
1) Students who are enrolled in a graduate degree program (Master / Ph. D) and will continuously be enrolled during participation.
2) Students who [will] have acquired bachelor’s degree and will enter Master program by the beginning of participation in the program. (after July 2025)
*It is necessary to submit the copy of admission letter for Master Course.
3) Students who are in 4th year and 5th year at Dual Degree can also apply for the program.
*Students who had finished 3rd year of Dual Degree before the OGGs program participation and will advance to the 4th year after the participation to the program are also eligible.

2. Students whose GPA are above 2.30/3.00 over the last one year.
*Applicants must have sufficient English proficiency to take the course.
If you do not have the following certificate, you will need to take the Duolingo English Test.
1) TOEIC: 550
2) TOEFL (ITP/ PBT/iBT/CBT): 500/500/61/173
3) IELTS: 5.0
4) Duolingo (http://en.duolingo.com)

3) Academic transcript of home institution of last one year (Translated in English)
*It is necessary to submit the official transcript with the issue date.
4) Official Certificate of Enrollment of home University (in English)
*It is recommended to submit Bonafide Certificate with the issue date.
5) Copy of passport
6) Copy of Official English proficiency test certificate
*If classes at your home university are taught in English, a certificate is not required.
7) Recommendation letter issued by the Head of study program (free format)
