Hiroshima University Study Abroad Program (HUSA)
Established in 1996, the Hiroshima University Study Abroad Program, or HUSA, is an exciting and eye-opening international exchange program. Designed specifically for university students who are interested in Japanese culture and society or students who want to deepen and broaden their studies while studying abroad, HUSA offers an unparalleled cultural experience for either 6 months or for a full years.
Eligibility
Overseas students who meet the following conditions are eligible to apply for the HUSA program:
- a students must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at his/her university while studying at Hiroshima University
- a student must be a full-time student of the university with wich Hiroshima University has concluded a formal short-term student exchange afreement
- a student must have a good academic record
- a student must show a clear academic purpose to study at Hiroshima University
- a student must have sufficient English (equivalent to TOEFL iBT above 61 or IELTS above 5.0) or Japanese language ability (Japanese Proficiency test – Nihongo Noryoku Shiken Grade 2 or above) to be able to comprehend classes, give presentations, write academic paper and take examinations
Scholarship
For a limited number of students in the HUSA program, a “JASSO student Exchange Support Program” offers monthly stipend of 80.000 yen
