Global Connections: Performance Pedagogy and Practice
On behalf of Professor Leon Rubin and the Faculty of Performing Arts at LASALLE, University of the Arts Singapore, we invite you to our international conference, Global Connections: Performance Pedagogy and Practice, which will take place from 31 May to 3 June.
The conference webpage and registration are live: https://www.lasalle.edu.sg/global-connections-performance-pedagogy-and-practice – Please register, and circulate far and wide!
This is the second international conference hosted by our Faculty. Our first conference, Arrhythmia: Performance Pedagogy and Practice, took place in 2021, during one of the many peaks of pandemic times. Back then, the event was mostly a local celebration of the performance community in Singapore. Conversations centred on how to react and think through such a tumultuous and material event as a global pandemic while also taking the opportunity to build a community.
Moving forward, Global Connections: Performance Pedagogy and Practice asks: what can we do now that we have a renewed sense of disciplinary identity? Moreover, what can we do together?
We are delighted and proud to produce this conference in partnership with UNATC in Romania and WAAPA in Australia. And we are also thrilled to have Routledge as our publishing partner. The collaboration has been a terrific opportunity to revive our love for making and teaching dance, music, and theatre. The event will truly celebrate the global connections we can create across institutions, people, disciplines, and performance pedagogy and practice.
The event is hybrid, with all activities being broadcast on Zoom and some activities taking place in person in Singapore and Bucharest. Attendance is free of charge, but registration is required. Only registered participants will receive the login details.
