A bit of background about Teesside University, the University was first established as Constantine Technical College back in 1930 to support Middlesbrough’s booming engineering and shipping industries in 1930, the college became a polytechnic in 1969 and then one of 14 new universities approved by the Privy Council in 1992.

 

Teesside is home to DigiCity, which has generated more than 200 new businesses and is adding more than £170 million per annum to the Teesside economy. Based on the Guardian League Table 2021, Teesside University is ranked #68 in the UK and based on the views of 854 students in a global survey response of 179,950 students, Teesside University is ranked #1 out of 199 universities in the world for Average Satisfaction, Satisfaction with arrival, Satisfaction with support and Social facilities.  The University is also ranked #15 in the top 25 International Animation Schools and Colleges, and ranked #3 in the top 5 UK Animation Schools (Animation Career Review 2020 International Rankings).

 

This year, the University is offering a group of fully-funded and fees-only PhD studentships, live here and these studentships are open to international candidates. Whether an applicant is offered a fully-funded or fees-only opportunity will be decided at the interview.
