Call for Application, Tokyo Tech AOTULE Summer Programme 2017
School of engineering, School of Materials and Chemical Technology, and School of Enviroment and Society of Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech) wish to invite students from the AOTULE member universities to participate in the 2017 AOTULE Summer Student Exchange Programme at Tokyo Tech. The programme provides participants an opportunity to conduct faculty-mentored research project at Tokyo Tech.
Exchange Periode:
June to August. Students must arrive at designated dormitory in Tokyo area on 1 June 2017 and leave on 31 August 2017.
Activities:
In addition to conducting a research project, students are requested to participate in designated course work. Also, a two day 9th Multidisciplinary International Student Workshop (MISW2017) is scheduled for the participants to present their work (either the work during their stay or the work at their home institution) as well as presenting a poster to introduce their home institution to other students.
Tuition fees:
Tuition fees for the programme are waived.
Flights:
Students are required to purchase their air-tickets to/from Japan at their own expense and to notify the flight details to our coordinator in advance.
Accommodation:
Students must stay at a designated dormitory sponsored by Tokyo Tech. Participant are not required to pay for the rent.
Student Visa:
All students, including those from visa waiver countries, are required to obtain a “Student Visa” immediately after receiving acceptance notification from this programme.
Allowance:
Daily allowance* is provided by Tokyo Tech.
*Amount to be determined in due course. For your reference, JPY 2.000/day in 2016.
Insurance:
It is mandatory for all exchange students to enroll in the Tokyo Tech on-campus accident insurance scheme and the students will be responsible for payment of its premium upon arrival. In addition, the students are required to join the National Health Insurance System of Japan. Medical/Travel insurance for the duration of the programme is also highly recommended to secure liability that may occur during students travel to/from Japan as well as their off campus events in Japan.
The Tokyo Tech AOTULE Committe will review the applications and notify you of the candidate selection by mid-January 2017. The selected students will then need to complete an online application form abd to submit necessary documents by early February for admission into Tokyo Tech.
Requirements:
- Post graduate (Master or Doctoral student) or final-year undergraduate students
- Students from FTTM, STEI, FTSL, FTMD and FTI
- Official transcript (in English)
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- TOEFL or IELTS, with minimum score of: TOEFL 550, IELTS 6,5, iBT 100
- Motivation Letter
