Application Procedure at Technische Hochschule Ulm – Spring Semester 2021

Application procedure for spring semester 2021 (March/April – June/July).

Ulm are offering the following options for ITB students:

A) 3-Month-Programs during the spring semester (IEP):
During the spring semester, Ulm offer the Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering Programs (IEEP and ICEP). The lectures run from April until June.
IEEP students who chose the course “Advanced Project” may extend their stay and work in one of the university’s laboratories during July.

B) Semester Programs:
Ulm are offering several semester programs in different departments.
Please note: Semester Programs means that courses start at the beginning of March and end in the end of July. Mixing those courses with the ICEP / IEEP program will not be possible.

ULM will update the brochures constantly but students can use this year’s version version of the brochures. The courses will remain the same in all programs, it might only be that ULM can offer additional courses.

C) Practical trainings / internships / final thesis
Students could also come to THU for a practical semester, internship or project work (Bachelor or Master thesis) in one of ULM laboratories. In this case, ULM would need to get some information on the student’s interests and qualification. The students may have a look on the different institutes on ULM web page and let ULM know in which research field you are interested in.

D) German taught programs:
Students who speak German can study in any of ULM Bachelor Programs. The module description of the German taught classes may be found here

Students should have at least a German level of B2.

E) Master programs
Students with a Bachelor degree or an equivalent of minimum 210 ECTS are welcome to select courses form ULM Master programs.

Students may also download the newest version on Ulm Webpage www.hs-ulm.de/internationals (Downloads).

Housing:
ULM will do their best to provide housing in one of ULM student dormitories regarding the wishes, the students mark in the housing request form. However, the situation in Ulm has become very difficult and ULM cannot guarantee that will find housing for all students. If students are able to find an accommodation by themselves, they should let ULM know as soon as possible.

Students should also have a look on ULM web page to get more information about living and studying in Ulm. 

After the corresponding department of ULM university has accepted the students, student will receive a letter with general information, an admission letter and some important information concerning you arrival and your stay in Ulm. Please do remind students should arrive on the given dates and be present at the registration days.

Nomination:
Students should be nominated by home universities first.

1. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
2. Motivation Letter
3. Academic transcript
4. TOEFL or IELTS, with minimum score of: TOEFL 550, IELTS 6,5, iBT 79

Language Course:
Incoming students should be able to follow lectures in English or German (B2 level).
ULM are offering a voluntary intensive language course during the first 2 weeks in March.
During the semester, ULM are offering German language courses in four different levels. The participation in the semester language courses is mandatory for all exchange students.
