Nishimura Foundation – International Scholarship 2025 (Living Allowance Opportunity)
Nishimura International Scholarship are pleased to announce International Scholarship (living allowance scholarship) to individuals interested in pursuing undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral education in Japan, specifically at Osaka University, Kyoto University, Ritsumeikan University, and Kwansei Gakuin University.

Eligibility:
1. Individuals seeking undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral studies in Japan, particularly at Osaka University, Kyoto University, Ritsumeikan University, and Kwansei Gakuin University.
2. Individuals studying at their own expense at Osaka University, Kyoto University, Ritsumeikan University, Kwansei Gakuin University and universities affiliated with these institutions. Those studying online from Indonesia at these universities are not eligible to apply for this scholarship (unless they reside in Osaka).
3. Individuals who personally face difficulties or are considered unable to cover their living expenses while studying in Japan.
4. Academic GPA of at least 3.0 for undergraduate students and 3.5 for graduate students.
5. Individuals who have an interest in Japanese culture and society, and a desire to contribute to strengthening the relationship between Indonesia and Japan.

Required Documents:
1. CV
2. Research proposal in Japan or English
3. Motivational letter in Japan or English
4. A copy of the academic transcript and undergraduate/graduate degree certificate (legalized)
5. English or Japanese proficiency certificate
6. Letter of recommendation from preferred university in Japan
7. Letter of recommendation from Student’s Academic Supervisor/ Heads of Study Program/Dean of Faculty

– The registration deadline is December 10, 2025, for applicants who will be enrolled in April 2026 (interviews will take place in May 2026)
– All documents must arrive in Yogyakarta by December 10 2025
– The official acceptance letter can be submitted later after the official announcement around mid-February
– There are no fees required to participate in this scholarship
Details about the scholarship:
– The scholarship provides a living allowance of 130,000 yen per month
– The scholarship duration is 2 years for a Master’s degree and 3 years for a doctoral degree
– Upon arrival in Japan, based on the recommendation from the university in Japan, the scholarship recipient will receive 150,000 yen (given only once) to cover the round-trip flight ticket and initial living expenses in Japan
– Even if selected for the scholarship, it will be canceled if the recipient is not accepted by one of the universities in Japan mentioned above
– The scholarship will be disbursed every 3 months.
