2016 Yeosu Academy of the Law of the Sea

The Korea Maritime Institute is pleased to announce that the third session of the Yeosu Academy of the Law of the Sea is to be held from 31 October to 11 November 2016 in Yeosu, Republic of Korea.

 

The Yeosu Academy is an initiative, as a part of the Yeosu Project that inherited the spirit of the EXPO 2012 Yeosu Korea as well as the Yeosu Declaration, which aims to provide education and training on ocean affairs to developing states to cope with maritime challenges confronting these states.

 

In this regard, the Yeosu Academy offers a two-week training program for government officials, researchers, and other professionals engaging in ocean policy-making procedure as well as graduate students who are interested in ocean affairs from developing states, inter alia, in the Asia-Pacific region. The faculty of the Academy is being comprised of approximately 12 of the most prominent scholars, judges of international judiciaries, and high officials of international organizations. Thus, participants would be able to establish a close network with professionals and scholars in this filed.
