Pre-doctoral face-to-face training programme

the upcoming 4th edition of the Pre-doctoral Training Programme, organized by the PhD Consortium Indonesia. The programme will be conducted in a face-to-face format from September 4th to September 9th, 2023, at the Erasmus Training Centre building located within the Dutch Embassy compound in Jakarta.

ABOUT PRE-DOCTORAL COURSE

Since 2019, the Erasmus Training Centre (ETC) in Jakarta, in partnership with three top Dutch universities—Leiden University, University of Groningen, and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam—has been organizing a preparatory doctoral training program tailored specifically for PhD students from Indonesia. The objective of this program is to provide support to incoming and future Indonesian PhD students, helping them prepare for their PhD trajectories at a Dutch university.

It is specifically designed to meet the needs of Indonesian students pursuing doctoral studies in the Netherlands. The training focuses on developing academic English writing skills and competencies, as well as providing training in soft skills. Additionally, it includes an introductory module on the Dutch language, culture, and academic environment. This pre-doctoral course serves as a perfect stepping-stone to pursuing a prestigious doctoral degree in the Netherlands.

Over the years, we have observed an increasing need among PhD students to develop research skills and competencies, enhance their academic writing skills in English, and improve their presentation skills in order to successfully embark on their PhD trajectories. Through this intensive one-week program, we aim to equip PhD students with the essential research, academic writing, and soft skills required to effectively navigate the common challenges encountered during PhD research.

We are pleased to announce that FULL SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE! The PhD Consortium Indonesia will award a total of three full scholarships, each worth Rp. 4,750,000, to promising research proposals. The announcement of the scholarship recipients will be made on August 23rd, 2023.
