PARE Summer School 2022 -Call for Applications

Now Hokkaido Summer Institute 2022 website is open and it’s time for application.
PARE Summer School will be enrolled in a scheme of Hokkaido Summer Institute (HSI 2022), same as HSI 2021 held last summer, PARE Summer School was held online though.

Application and course guide (Summer 2022)

Through HSI, applicants will get benefit from easier access to visa application and to booking dormitory.

*Please note that the style of the school will be changed to online, depending on the situation of COVID-19

(*PARE Program will be changed to One Program for Global Goals (OGGs) and renamed as PARE Course under the new program from April 2022)

Participants from ITB are required to attend following courses held in Hokkaido:

1) PBL: International Co-trained PBL for Problem Solving ~ July 4 – July 8, 2022 (1credit)

*Finances*

Ø Scholarship:

HU is planning to offer JASSO scholarship of 80,000 yen up to 4 candidates from ITB

*Please also note if the style of the school has been changed to online, No Scholarship will be given.

Ø Air ticket will NOT be provided

Ø Dormitory can be secured for those who applied through HSI website at lower cost (depending on availability, however, it costs normally around 1,000 yen/day + utilities, so if one stays over 3 weeks for the program, room charge can be estimated around 30,000 yen or so. Transportation cost to campus (normally around 700 yen round trip/day), food and shopping costs would need to be added. *Kindly note that this estimation is subject to change).

Ø Registration Fee for Summer School 2021 is 40,000JPY, same as 2019.

*Status*

Status of Special Auditor will be given at HU for those who are
admitted. 5 credits(please check above) will be officially given after completion of the school.

Upon completion, HU official transcripts will be offered and the credits can be transferred in ITB.

*Please note if the style of the school has been changed to online, the schedule of the school will be changed, therefore, the number of credits may be changed.

Please note that students need to be nominated by ITB

Applicants must possess a competent command of spoken and written English, which corresponds to:
1) A TOEIC score of at least 740
2) TOEFL (ITP/iBT/CBT) scores of at least 550/80/213,
3) An IELTS score of at least 5.5,
4) Other English certification that is equal/similar to the above Official Certificate of English Language Proficiency, such as TOEFL or IELTS (please refer to the list of university options for the English level required by each university) –
