PARE Summer School 2020 -Call for Applications
Now Hokkaido Summer Institute 2020 website is open and it’s time for application.
PARE Summer School will be enrolled in a scheme of Hokkaido Summer Institute (HSI 2020) same as HSI 2019 held last summer.
Through HSI, applicants will get benefit from easier access to visa application and to booking dormitory.
As mentioned below, PARE are planning to offer scholarship to 4 candidates per each consortium university.
As indicated to you earlier, participants from consortium universities are required to attend following courses held in Hokkaido:
- Introduction to PARE IV (1 credit): Aug. 26 (Wed) – Aug.28 (Fri) 3 days (https://hokkaidosummerinstitute.oia.hokudai.ac.jp/courses/CourseDetail=G060)
- PARE Summer School (Field Work Training I for PARE & Seminar I for PARE) (3 credits): Aug. 31 (Mon) – Sep.11 (Fri) 11 days (https://hokkaidosummerinstitute.oia.hokudai.ac.jp/courses/CourseDetail=G070, https://hokkaidosummerinstitute.oia.hokudai.ac.jp/courses/CourseDetail=G071)
Finances
Ø Scholarship: HU is planning to offer scholarship of 80,000 yen up to 4 candidates per each consortium university for those who need to complete PARE Short Program (1 credit of Introduction to PARE IV + PARE Summer School (PARE Field Work Training I + PARE Seminar I )). Amount of scholarship has been increased by 10,000 yen as duration of stay has been extended for 5 days.
Ø Air ticket will NOT be provided
Ø Dormitory can be secured for those who applied through HSI website at lower cost (depending on availability, however, it costs normally around 1,000 yen/day + utilities, so if one stays over 3 weeks for the program, room charge can be estimated around 30,000 yen or so. Transportation cost to campus (normally around 700 yen round trip/day), food and shopping costs would need to be added. *Kindly note that this estimation is subject to change).

Ø Registration Fee for Summer School 2020 is 40,000JPY, same as 2019

Status
Status of Special Auditor will be given at HU for those who are admitted. 1 credit (Introduction to PAREIV), 2 credits (PARE Field Work Training I) and 1 credit (Seminar I for PARE), a total of 4 credits will be officially given after completion of the school. Upon completion, HU official transcripts will be offered and the credits can be transferred at your institution.
