Leeds International Summer School (LISS) 2021 – Applications now open!

Applications for Leeds International Summer School (LISS) 2021 are open!  

Earn credit and immerse yourself in British culture this July at the University of Leeds. Join the programme for two or four weeks and choose from over 20 academic modules (courses). Subject areas include:  

·       Arts and Humanities 

·       Business 

·       Engineering and Science  

·       Politics and Social Sciences 

Leeds is ranked in the top 100 universities in the QS World University Rankings 2021. Read more about the academic modules on offer. 

The summer school includes academic field trips so you can get out of the classroom and experience hands-on learning. There is also a busy social programme – meet students from all over the world while exploring Leeds, Yorkshire and the UK. Watch the LISS video to find out more. 

LISS is an all-inclusive programme. As well as tuition, trips and a social programme, University accommodation and premium gym membership are included, plus breakfast and lunch (Monday – Friday). Read more about fees and scholarships.

Required documents for selection process:  

1. Academic Transcript
2. Official Certificate of English Language Proficiency, such as TOEFL or IELTSLanguage requirement:
   a. International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 5.5 (5.5 overall with no component lower than 5.0)
   b. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT): 80 (80 overall, listening and reading: 18, speaking and writing: 19)
   c. Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC): listening: 400, reading: 385, speaking: 160, writing: 150 (all four components are required)
3. Recent CV;
4. Personal Statement Video (max. 5 minutes, explaining your motivation to participate in the exchange program).

We wanted to send you an update on Leeds International Summer School (LISS) 2021. This summer LISS will take place online. The online version of the programme offers students the opportunity to study at a world top 100 university, earn credit and gain an insight into British culture.

Students can choose to join the programme for two or four weeks and earn up to 20 Leeds credits. Classes will be a combination of synchronous and asynchronous learning. Students will be able to select academic modules taught at a time which suits them. We are offering a set of unique academic modules in the following subject areas:

• Arts and Humanities
• Business
• Engineering and Science
• Social Sciences

LISS also includes a social and cultural programme. This will include orientation events, social activities, networking opportunities, skills workshops and cultural insight events.

The cost for the online version of LISS is substantially lower than an on campus programme. Leeds also offering academic scholarships, a group discount and are extending our early discount for applications received by 1 May.
