Hokkaido University Short-Term Exchange Program (HUSTEP)
The Hokkaido University Short-Term Exchange Program (HUSTEP) is a ‘junior year abroad’ type program designed to provide undergraduate students from affiliated universities with the opportunity to study in Japan at Hokkaido University. Participants in this program take a wide variety of classes offered in English in the fields of Culture and Society, Environment, Science and Technology. Students also have the chance to study the Japanese language. In addition, some participants can pursue independent study research under the guidance of a faculty member. There will also be an opportunity to take part in numerous traditional and contemporary Japanese cultural activities. Students admitted to the program are eligible to apply for a scholarship.
HUSTEP provides a safe and caring environment in which to carry out your academic studies and broaden your horizons. Participating in HUSTEP will help to prepare you for the future with knowledge and experiences that will last a lifetime. In addition, you will have a wonderful opportunity to meet and make friends with many Japanese people as well as international students from all around the world who come to study at Hokkaido University. Hokkaido University would like to invite motivated university students from ALL disciplines to participate in HUSTEP.
Application Deadline:
Research Course: 28 January 2016 (study Period September 25, 2016- around August 10,2017)
Semester Abroad Course (autumn): 28 January 2016 (Study period September 25,2016 – Mid February 2017
Semester Abroad Course (Spring): 19 September 2016 (Study period Early April 2017 – around August 2017)

- Academic transcript
- TOEFL or IELTS, with minimum score of: TOEFL 550, IELTS 6,5, iBT 79
Please submit the requirements above to the International Relation Office ITB before the deadline.
