The Roads that Lead to Success, AUN-QA International Conference 2023

The pathway of quality assurance has many challenges and plenty of roads to take, but which is the right one? How do we overcome the roadblocks in the way? AUN-QA has the answers. In just next week, the AUN-QA International Conference will be at full throttle! We have revealed our first set of speakers last week, now we have our second set of reveals for this week. Come hear the speakers of this year’s AUN-QA IC guiding us all to the road of success in quality assessment and driving university excellence. We assure you that there will be plenty of experiences, good practices, and success stories going around!

Fortifying Sustainability: Revisiting the ASEAN University Network Ecological Education and Culture Conference (AUN-EEC)

Amidst the alarming rates of environmental concerns in the society today, the AUN-EEC has been a platform to amplify experiences and initiatives that foster the essence of nature and its significance in an individual’s way of life. Several experts have been invited to induce action among individuals, particularly the youth, in exploring processes towards preservation and conservation of nature. Along with their remarks, inspiring studies, stories, and experiences in safeguarding the environment were also a part of the program. These instances are envisions to bring inspiration and motivation to individuals in conserving nature for the future.

Triple Line-up of Vietnamese Universities: AUN-QA PA Overview: 342nd, 343rd, and 344th

The last week of August is here and we will be moving to the final quarter of 2023 very soon. But before we move on to 2023’s last quarter, for the second half of August, the AUN-QA has an interesting line up of not just one or two Vietnamese universities, but three! In a row at that too! It is not often the Programme Assessments take place in one country in two consecutive weeks, but this is one of those times. Perhaps this should also be remembered as the Vietnamese PA Overview special?

NUS quantum scientists achieve state-of-the-art defect-free atom array

Researchers from the Department of Physics and Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) at the National University of Singapore have developed a novel method to pristinely arrange rubidium atoms into arrays about as wide as a human hair with the use of optical tweezers. Using their automated setup powered by a novel algorithm, the team led by Assistant Professor Loh Huanqian, Principal Investigator at the Department of Physics and CQT, realised a defect-free 225-atom array with a success probability of 33 per cent. This is among the highest success probabilities reported in the literature for room temperature setups.
