Application procedure at Hochschule Ulm – Fall semester 2015
Hochschule Ulm offer two different kind of English taught programs: The 3-month programs (IEP) and the full semester programs.

A) 3-Month-Programs
International Mechanical Engineering Program in English
During the Fall semester we offer the IMEP program. The Mechanical Engineering Program (IMEP) is only offered from October till December.
The Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering Programs (IEEP and ICEP) are only offered from April till June.
B) Semester Program
Hochschule Ulm are offering 3 new semester programs. Please note: they are Semester Programs, which means that courses start at the beginning of October 2016 and end in Mid-February 2017.
1. International Semester Program in Energy Economics (SPEEC).
The courses which you will find on the enclosed list of English taught courses, are all taught in English. Hochschule Ulm also enclosing a brochure of the program. To make sure that there is no overlapping of courses, students should choose either Block 1 or 2
Mixing those courses with the IMEP, ICEP or IEEP program will not be possible as they are running on our German semester time frame.
2. NEW – International Semester Program in Business (SPiB)
You will find the list of offered courses on the enclosed list. A detailed description of the contents can be found in the enclosed SPiB brochure.
3. Semester Program in Digital Media
You can find more information in the brochure from the annex.
C) Different English taught lectures of our faculties
You can find more English taught courses which also follow our German semester time frame on the enclosed list of English taught courses.
D) Full English taught Bachelor Program
Hochschule Ulm start brand new Bachelor-program “Computer Science”!

E) Practical trainings / internships / final thesis
Students could also come to HS Ulm and do a practical semester/project work in one of our laboratories. This can also be done in the framework of a Bachelor or Master thesis. In this case we would need to get some information on the student’s interests and qualification. The students may have a look on the different institutes on our web-page and let us know in which research field they are interested in. Please send us beforehand a scanned letter of motivation, a CV and a transcript of records so that we can ask different professors in our faculties to find a suitable tutor.
F) German taught programs:
Students who speak German can study in any of Bachelor Programs. The module description of the German taught classes can be found here (Modulhandbuch)

Students should have at least a German level of B2.
G) Master programs
If students would like to study in Master Program they should contact Hochschule Ulm directly.
Application:
Students should be nominated by their home universities first. Hochschule Ulm will then send the link to Hochschule Ulm online application form which includes also the housing request form and the language competence form. ALL students should fill in the language competence application form so that Hochschule Ulm can get some information about your language skills.
Deadlines:
The deadline for students to apply for the next Fall semester is 18 March 2016.
Requirements:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Academic transcript
- TOEFL or IELTS, with minimum score of: TOEFL 550, IELTS 6,5, iBT 79
- Motivation Letter
Language course:
We are offering an intensive language course for IMEP students during 2 weeks in September.
ALL students should fill in the language competence form so that we can get some information about their language skills. During the semester Hochschule Ulm are offering additional language courses in 4 different levels.
Housing:
Hochschule Ulm will do the best to provide housing in one of Hochschule Ulm student dormitories regarding the wishes, the students mark in the housing request form. However, the situation in Ulm has become very difficult and we can not guarantee that Hochschule Ulm will find housing for all students. If students are able to find an accommodation by themselves they should let Hochschule Ulm know as soon as possible.

After the students have been accepted by the corresponding department of our university, they will receive a letter with general information, an admission letter and some important information concerning their arrival and their stay in Ulm. Please do remind your students that they should arrive on the given dates and be present at the registration days.
