2017-2018 Incoming Exchange Programs Nomination at Universitas Nasional Chung Hsing

NCHU established in 1919 as an Advanced Academy of Agronomy and Forestry, NCHU has developed into a comprehensive national university in Taiwan. The university consists of eight colleges, seven research centers, four experimental forest stations, a veterinary hospital, and two agricultural and husbandry experimental farms.

This year NCHU have a special activity named Chinese Summer School (CSS).
Students, who will be nominated as exchange students applicants, could also attend CSS.

CSS is an activity going along with the nomination, in order to help nominees learning more about Taiwan daily life by easy Chinese lecture.

*Benefits: Tuition Waiver (including Materials fees, registration fees, processing fees and accommodation)
*Schedule: Activity will including not only Chinese lecture but also cultural experiencing trip.
*Member: Only 80 students can attend this activity, hold your opportunities!!

 

Exchange Student Program:

The student exchange program is designed to facilitate international cooperation and exchange with partner institutions of NCHU.

  1. Program for Academic Exchange (PAX):
    This program offers incoming exchange students diverse courses taught in Chinese or English in the Colleges of Liberal Arts, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, Management, Law and Politics, Life Sciences, and Science.
  2. Lab Exchange:
    This program offers incoming exchange students the opportunity to do research under the professors’ instruction. We offer research related to many fields of study.
    Each student will be assigned a mentor professor for consultation during his/her stay at NCHU. We welcome students who are interested in learning more about Taiwan to join PAX/Lab Exchange and share their culture with us!

Benefits

  1. Tuition waiver (mandatory insurance fee is NOT covered, which is around NT$500/US$17 per month)
  2. Monthly stipend from NT$3,000 – 6,000 (US$100 – 200) per month will be offered upon availability and qualification of students.
    【Note】Benefits only apply to the nominees that fall within the agreed quota of the partner university agreement.

Accommodations

Fees required for living in NCHU dormitory per semester (about 5 months):
Basic fees for one semester, including electricity, public cleaning, etc. around NT$10,000 (US$333)

Insurance

Exchange students must have insurance while at NCHU. If you have overseas emergency medical insurance from your own country, please bring it with you (must be in English). If not, students must pay own insurance fee during registration process.

Requirements:

  1. Official transcript (in English)
  2. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  3. TOEFL or IELTS, with minimum score of: TOEFL 550, IELTS 6,5, iBT 100
  4. Motivation Letter

Application Deadlines

Student who apply fall semester (Sept. to Jan.): March 10 (of the same year)
Student who apply spring semester (Feb. to June.): September 10 (of the previous year)
