Welcoming New Faces, Connecting Cultures: International Students Gathering at ITB

The Directorate of Partnerships, through its International Student Services team, hosted an International Students Gathering on 12 December 2025—a fun and lively event designed to welcome new international students, reconnect with senior international students, and foster meaningful bonds across the global community at ITB.

Held in a warm and informal atmosphere, the gathering brought together newly arrived international students, continuing international students, and ITB student buddies. The event aimed to create a relaxing space where students could mingle, share stories, and adapt to campus life while building a supportive peer network from day one.

The afternoon was packed with music, laughter, and high energy. From jam sessions with acoustic guitars to full-hearted karaoke performances, students took turns singing popular tunes and national songs from various countries, keeping the cheerful momentum going all the way until dusk.

Beyond the music, participants were treated to a delightful taste of Indonesian culinary culture. The gathering featured a variety of local snacks and fresh traditional fruits—including pisang muli (lady finger bananas), lengkeng (longan), and salak (snake fruit)—introducing international students to authentic local flavors and tropical delicacies.

To wrap up the afternoon, everyone enjoyed a warm serving of traditional bakso (Indonesian meatballs). Students queued up eagerly to try the iconic dish, making the culinary bonding experience both delicious and memorable.

Events like the International Students Gathering serve as a vital part of ITB’s commitment to providing an inclusive, welcoming, and vibrant environment for its international community. Through casual interactions, shared meals, and music, new students quickly found themselves feeling right at home in Bandung.
