Science Tokyo – AYSEAS 2026: Building Cross Cultural Connections Through Indonesia’s Innovation and Industry

Bandung, partnership.itb.ac.id – Science Tokyo-AYSEAS (AYSEAS) is an annual international educational program organized by Science Tokyo in collaboration with partner universities in Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam. Bringing together students from Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam, the 10-day (27 August – 4 September) program provides a platform for cross-cultural learning, collaboration, and meaningful exchange.
Through company and research site visits, academic discussions, cultural experiences, and collaborative group projects, participants gain firsthand insights into the diverse cultures, industries, innovations, and development of ASEAN countries.
In 2026, Indonesia serves as the host country, with Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) welcoming AYSEAS participants to experience Indonesia’s spirit of Unity in Diversity. The program offers opportunities to explore academic and innovation ecosystems while connecting with leading industries, startups, and research initiatives.

Cultural Exchange and Strengthening Friendships
Beyond academic and industrial experiences, AYSEAS 2026 also featured cultural exchange activities at IRO ITB, where participants shared traditional performances, customs, food, and cultural heritage from their respective countries. These activities created opportunities for students from Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam to connect, appreciate cultural diversity, and strengthen friendships across borders.
