Nagoya University Short-Term Japanese Program (NUSTEP) 2026

The Nagoya University Short-Term Japanese Language Program (NUSTEP) offers 18 days of intensive Japanese classes for a student who is currently enrolled as a degree-seeking student in a university with an academic exchange agreement with Nagoya University. Participants will join specialized lectures by faculty.

The program also provides various on and off-campus activities such as cultural excursions, field trips, exchanges and discussions with Nagoya University students. All participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the program.

Eligibility:
1. currently enrolled in a university which has an academic exchange agreement with Nagoya University (i.e., an active student of ITB) and
2. have JLPT N2-N3 level or CEFR B1 or higher level of Japanese proficiency.

Participation Fee:
140,000JPY(includes housing, field trip and travel insurance)
*Participants are responsible for travel expenses to/from Nagoya and expenses such as food and daily necessities
Scholarship Opportunities:
Scholarship within budget, students with outstanding grades will receive 80,000 JPY in scholarships from the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO)

3. Japanese Language Learning Questionnaire (JLPT certificate for those who passed the exam): here
*in case the applicant does not have the score of JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test), interviews can be conducted for him/her via Zoom or Video Conference System
