About KNB Scholarship
The Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) Scholarship is a financial aid program provided by the Government of Indonesia for prospective international students from developing countries. Initially initiated following the 10th Conference of Heads of State of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in 1992, it has now expanded its eligibility beyond NAM countries to Asia, the Pacific, South America, Africa, and Eastern Europe.
At Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), KNB recipients gain the opportunity to study at Indonesia's leading technical university. Graduates are expected to enhance their intellectual capacity, strengthen professional competencies, and contribute to the development of future global leaders while experiencing life in one of the world’s most culturally diverse societies.

Application Procedures
1. Initial Preparation
Download the KNB Scholarship Offering Letter from the official website: knb.kemdiktisaintek.go.id.
2. Embassy Recommendation
Contact the Indonesian Embassy to obtain a Recommendation Letter by submitting:
- KNB Scholarship Offering Letter & Official Passport.
- Curriculum Vitae & English Proficiency Test.
- Recommendation Letters from Employers and Previous Schools.
- Academic Certificates & Transcripts.
- Medical Report.
- (Doctoral Only) Recommendation from ITB research supervisor & Statement of Purpose.
3. Online Submission
Complete the online application form. Ensure all documents, including the Embassy Recommendation Letter, are uploaded correctly.
4. Selection & Results
Complete all selection stages (administrative and academic), including online interviews and psychological tests conducted by ITB. Selection results will be published officially online.
Eligibility Requirements
- Maximum Age: 21 years old (as of Dec 31, 2026).
- Academic: Hold a High School degree.
- English: TOEFL ITP 477, iBT 53, IELTS 5.5, or TOEIC 510.
- Passport: Official Passport valid until at least Dec 31, 2027.
- Application Video: Max 5-minute video on YouTube explaining profile and interest in ITB.
- Health: Certified medical report including tests for TB, HIV, and drugs.
- Marital Status: Willing not to be married or pregnant during the scholarship period.
- Maximum Age: 35 years old (as of Dec 31, 2026).
- Academic: Hold a Bachelor's degree (legalized by Ministry of Education).
- English: TOEFL ITP 500, iBT 61, IELTS 6.0, or TOEIC 575.
- Passport: Official Passport valid until at least Dec 31, 2027.
- Application Video: Max 5-minute video explaining study goals and campus choice.
- Health: Medical report issued within the last 3 months.
- Service: Not currently undergoing military service.
- Maximum Age: 40 years old (as of Dec 31, 2026).
- Academic: Hold a Master's degree (legalized).
- Supervisor: Must obtain a Recommendation Letter from a potential research supervisor at ITB.
- Proposal: Submit a Statement of Purpose and Dissertation Proposal.
- English: TOEFL ITP 530, iBT 71, IELTS 6.0, or TOEIC 640.
- Video: Max 5-minute video profile and research explanation.
- Research: All doctoral research activities must be conducted in Indonesia.
