SUN/SixERS, Okayama University, Japan in collaboration with ASEAN University Network (AUN) is proud to announce the Japan-ASEAN online program toward SDGs -Understanding depopulation issues and rural development from cases of rural area in Okayama prefecture in Japan

The four-day virtual course is geared to strengthen the capacities of youth interested in sustainable development to solve developmental issues and introduce economic models to support sustainable development processes. Ensuring dialogue and active exchange of knowledge on joint regional actions in relation to the depopulation issues and rural development.

Date and Time:
Day 1: October 11 th (Tue) 17:00-18:00 (JST)
Day 2: October 12 th (Wed) 16:00-19:00 (JST)
Day 3: October 13 th (Thu) 16:00-19:00 (JST)
Day 4: October 14 th (Fri) 17:00-18:30 (JST) *18:30-19:30 Cross-cultural meal (Optional)
The entire event will be held in English on Zoom, free of charge.

Below is the Program of the event:
DAY 1
1. Opening remarks (Prof. Takayoshi SUZUKI, Executive Director, SixERS)
2. Message (Dr Choltis DHIRATHITI, Executive Director, AUN)
3. Real-time lecture (Dr Takao INAMORI, Okayama University)
*Orientation, lecture, Icebreaking and grouping
**Watching on-demand video material and completing the assignment
DAY 2 & DAY 3
1. Data collection and analysis by Group work
2. Figure out issues and countermeasures in depopulated areas in Japan and ASEAN countries.
3. Prepare PowerPoint slides to explain the issues and countermeasures
*Break-out room for group work will be provided between 16:00-19:00.
**Dr. INAMORI will supervise the group work during the time.
DAY 4
1. Real-time lecture (Group presentation, Wrap-up session)
2. Message (Prof. Takayoshi SUZUKI, Executive Director, SixERS)
3. Closing remarks (Dr Choltis DHIRATHITI, Executive Director, AUN)
(Optional) Cross-cultural meal
